Anima
Requirements
In order to become and Anima, one must first pass a number of trials designed to test one's connection to nature. These trials are often trained for over the course of decades.
Appointment
Once accepted into the ranks of the Anima, the newcomer must enter into a ritualistic fast with another member, which will transform their body and mind over the course of a month, taking away their eyesight, and permanently linking them to the minds of the other Anima.
Duties
The Anima helps to guide their tribe and keeps the old ways alive as the world changes. They calm tribal conflicts and act as pillars of wisdom to those who need it.
Benefits
When one becomes a member of the Anima, they are granted a mental connection to the other members of the fold, allowing them use of not only their own wisdom, but the wisdom of the others as well.
They are also linked inextricably to nature, allowing them to speak with animals at will.
Cultural Significance
An Anima is not merely a druid. An Anima is almost seen as the middle point between the Forestfolk and the forests that they reside in. They are where the line blurs, and serve as reminders that we are, all of us, a part of nature. We are connected to each other, the animals, and even the trees we make our homes in.
