Instruments of the sea

History

This tradition originate around the time the first shantie  was created. Written by a Isil'lassë elder at the time, it got improved as years goes on.

Execution

This tradition aims to allows ( or restrict ) the use of peculiar intruments during performance at sea. It was fairly difficult to keep music instruments intact during long voyage around Jezz'teh. Thus, this tradition aims to allows the use of a more primalistic type of instrument which are sturdier.

Components and tools

In addition to some singers (Usualy more than one), drums, jaw harp, ocarina and transverse flute were allowed

Participants

Usualy, one lead singer start the song and he is then followed by two types of singer: The chorus singer who only sing key element througout the song (The chorus is included, hence their name), and the rythm singer who produce sound at a specific time in order to improve the song. The idle sailors usualy take an instrument to follow the song. Rarely, the drum indicate the rythm at which a sailor can row.
