Gradsul (GRAD Sool)
A large fortified metropolis on the southeastern corner of the Kingdom of Keoland, Gradsul provides a major trading hub, because it connects The Azure Sea, the Sheldomar River, and the famous "Forest Road". With these three primary trade routes, it provides trade to the capital, Niole Dra as well as the interior of Keoland, like Daerwald, Woodsage, Granforth, and beyond.
Demographics
Predominantly human from Suloise and Oerident descent with a mix of Flan ancestry as well. Less than ten percent of the population are elves with the majority of those being sylvan descent. Halflings, gnomes, dwarves, and half-elves are the remaining common resident races.
History
Founding:
During the Great Migrations of the twin cataclysms, a Suloise faction, the House Rhola, came to the banks of the Sheldomar River and recognized the importance of the location and created a fortified town in -368 CY.Recent History:
As Kingdom of Keoland grows or declines, so follows the fortune of Gradsul. Wars in the north had stiffled goods traveling up and down the Sheldomar River which pinches the incomes of traders, merchants, crafts, and nobles. However, after the ceasefire in 566 CY, the city's finances has ballooned into one of the busiest ports on the western shores of The Azure Sea.
