Greyhawk 19.5: Smack Those Gobs!

Two aspiring adventurers, Olli, a high elf Ranger, and Hans, a Suloise wizard, set out from the Free City of Greyhawk, under the employ of the Count. Their task was to escort a delivery from the City to An Adventuring Guild.

The roads were particularly uneventful as they travelled, pleasant, even, if weren't for the blatant racist commentary from Hans. Even their night camping along the roadside was uneventful.

Upon arrival at the inn, one of the barkeeps recognized the seal of the Count as Olli presented it, and asked if Olli and Hans were with the Guild that often passed through. Olli said he was an adventurer, and an additional job was presented: investigation of some missing foodstuffs, some minor damages, and a couple missing horses. Some investigation of the premises occurred and a plan was hatched.

Hans and Olli went through the tavern of the inn looking to bolster their numbers, and happened upon a wood elf named Wyn who also bore a crest of the Count. Wyn joined them, and the party laid in wait.

In the wee hours of the morning, the party heard the cellar door open. Lying in wait inside the exterior door to the kitchens, they jumped out with Olli in the lead... who promptly had a spear thrown at him by a goblin. The party recovered from their surprise quickly and Hans put both the goblins to sleep. Olli quickly dispatched them without any issues and Wyn pounced on the cellar doors, holding them down so any goblins in the cellar couldn't escape. Hans fetched the innkeep to show him their work, who came out in his nightshirt with a large club hoisted over his shoulder.

After everyone was set, Wyn swung open a door and the frantic goblins tried to scramble out, but Olli's swords and the innkeep's club were to quick for them. The two remaining goblins retreated into the cellar, where Olli, Wyn, and the innkeep quickly finished the job.

The party members were paid 50 gold a piece for the task and enjoyed drinks with the innkeep to wind down. They departed in the morning, arriving at the Chateau in the mid afternoon.
