Brushstroke Buff
Cost: 1 Vitae
Dice Pool: (Manipulation + Occult + Resilience)
Action: Extended
The artist subculture of the Circle of the Crone is rife with artists and armor makers. With the application of blood and blood magic, some are able to take the statement "Creation is power" to another level. The caster takes blood and inks to paint armor onto a subject or himself. When the armor is complete the project dries and is empowered through the powers of Cruac and Resilience. The user gains an armor bonus equal to that of the style of armor that was painted onto them (e.g., the recipient of a plain bulletproof vest would gain the benefits of wearing a bulletproof vest). This armor lasts for a number of hours equal to the user’s Resilience. Penalties associated with painted versions of standard armor are one lower than normal (e.g., standard plate mail causes a –3 penalty to Speed and Initiative, but painted plate mail only causes a penalty of –2). Activation requires a number of successes equal to the highest rating of the armor (e.g., 2/3 armor would require 3 successes). The blood paint settles onto the skin like a tattoo and cannot be rubbed or washed off. When the time limit expires the tattoo becomes a coating of ash that can be removed. Custom armors cannot be created; this devotion can only mimic armors from Core books (with ST approval). The tattoos cannot be hidden with Obfuscate. This power costs 9 experience points to learn.
