A brief standoff between several terrorists and Sol garrison forces left 14 civilians dead on the planet of Jackson. This lead to several months of protest, and after they were brutally put down, resulting in more casualties, hundreds of worlds submitted formal requests to leave the Republic. The Republic refused and prepared for war. Several months of long bloody conflict, the war lost popular opinion, as the reasons for the war seemed silly. The Republic was forced to give independence to over 3000 worlds, which would lead to the formation of the Republics biggest enemies.
