The Raven Queen

The Raven Queen is ancient. The being known by that name has long since had her name lost to the sands of time. She is the spinner of fate and the patron of winter. She marks the end of each mortal life, and mourners call upon her during funeral rites, in the hope that she will guard the departed from the curse of undeath. While her concerns often are beyond the understanding of even the other gods, generally accepted wisdom seems to be, for followers dedicated to her service, to live by the following commandments:   ✦ Hold no pity for those who suffer and die, for death is the natural end of life.   ✦ Bring down the proud who try to cast off the chains of fate. As the instrument of the Raven Queen, you must punish hubris where you find it.   ✦ Know that your service will NOT be rewarded. Your patron is uncaring. It rarely deigns to acknowledge the existence of other gods, let alone a mortal, for any purpose other than cutting their thread of life.   It is believed that the Raven Queen is far older than many of the deities that squabble over power, weather she created them, or has ever been the silent reaper, even of gods, or even has transcended from their form of existence into another altogether, as alien to them as the gods are to us is unknown...
