Nycinth
Thank you, Cinth. You have been wonderful company as the last of the bond has faded. That last burst of Oas was meant as a gift, but it was the greatest curse. Thank you for taking it.
Elowen Val'nyris
N
ycinth was world-born from the ever glowing blossoms of the cyanthinar blooms growing deep in the Glimmeridge Mountains. A wounded soul scribe provided the last infusion of Oas needed for her full sapience and manifestation. Born with her name already woven into her being, and with the knowledge that something within the soul scribe Elowen had gone terribly wrong, Nycinth rose from the flowers.
Born as a small flower spirit, Nycinth grew steadily over the years to mimic Elowen's form. Small pale-blue petals lengthened and darkened to hang about her face, still occasionally glowing with the gentle azure light of her origin flower. Dark leaves and stems twisted and lengthened into sinuous limbs. In time, the once-small spirit stood to Elowen's height and matched her general build.
As Nycinth grew, Elowen faded. Whatever had been wrong with the woman's soul had continued to eat away at her from the inside. She taught little Cinth all she knew of the world and its many peoples. So many different beings. Different elements and natures. Different hopes, desires and fears. Near the end, Elowen told her of Chadrin. The Eldyr she had been bonded to. His death at the hands of humans, and the source of the wrongness within her. She told of his final gift; A powerful, concentrated rush of Oas which should have sustained her indefinitely, even after the bond was cut. A light she was all too happy to see slip away far faster than it had any right to.
In the end, Elowen faded like the weakening light within her. Her body broke down into its own natural light before that too faded away. In the quiet darkness left behind, Nycinth's joy faded with the memory of the only friend she knew.
She was gone. Why did it matter that Chadrin was gone? Why did Elowen leave? Why did she thank her? What light did she take?! Why did she have to be alone?!? The silent flowers held no answers
Soul Map
Void Mind
Having never seen a Soul Scribe, Nycinth is unaware of the nature of her mind ring. Without a scribing, void minds are hard to detect unless the being is moving in and out of areas with concentrated Oas. In the presence of strong Oas, a void mind is stable and powerful. Their mental fortitude increases to match the strength of the Oas near them, while slowing syphoning from the source. In areas of low or no Oas, void minds tend to become detached and unfocused; their emotions growing more extreme and less tempered by logic. They are at their most dangerous in dark places where their void element drains the little remaining light from their surroundings.Elementine with the void element have not been common in Oabos since before the arrival of the Children of Radiance. Very recently, it has been discovered that the void element reacts to Radiance in the same way that it reacts to Oas. Because of this, elementine with the void element are somewhat protected from the degradation of internal Oas cause by Radiance exposure.
Vegetation Body
Being a world-born elementine who gained sapience from a cyanthinar flower, Nycinth's body is composed entirely of living plant matter. Most of her body is composed of densely woven stems and leaves from the cyanthinar plant. Softer areas, such as hair are made up of long leaves and clusters of softly glowing azure flowers. While Nycinth's body is not distinctly masculine or feminine, sections of the leaves around her body can open to mimic panels of a skirt or robe. The long leaves which are usually pressed tightly around her body loosen and hang down, revealing a lighter underside. This lighter portion of the leaves is much closer in color to the flower clusters and give off a similar faint glow.
Synsri Spirit
Nycinth's spirit ring is evenly balanced with her body ring, granting her a relatively even balance between impact of herself and at a distance, at the cost of range. Over time, she increased the range of manipulating her ability to roughly fifteen to twenty feet from her body.Nycinth's spirit ring is Synsri — the very nature of wind and movement. It is a free-flowing movement which slips around obstacles yet gains strength if trapped or re-directed for too long. This manifested as the ability to move like the wind; her already supple form seems to bend and move with the wind, life a leaf being blown toward her destination. She also developed a subtle manipulation of the air around her. This manipulation cannot create a strong force but is sufficient to move small or light objects. Against anything heavy or secured, the air merely flows around the obstacle.
