Pallor
Name: Aevar Quell
Alias(es): The Pallor, The Quiet Mirror, The Debtkeeper
Race: Pale Sun Elf
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown (appears mid-30s, possibly centuries old)
Faction: Hollow Masks
Class: Rogue (Phantom) / Bard (Whispers)
Alignment: True Neutral
Role: Field Handler, Operative Contact, Mission Broker
Appearance:
Aevar is a tall, gaunt elf with pallid, nearly translucent skin and cloudy silver eyes that never quite meet yours. His bone-white hair is pulled back tightly, with the sides of his head shaved down. His face is painted in ritual fashion—white lips and black rings around his eyes, with a line of faded charcoal sigils running from his temple to his jawline. He wears a long, asymmetric trench coat made from veilcloth and scorched rebel flags. One shoulder is protected with a mismatched piece of brass plate armor. Hidden within his coat is a cracked Hollow Mask made of veilglass, rarely worn but always near.
Notable Features:
Height: 6’2”
Eyes: Clouded silver
Hair: Bone-white
Tattoos: A closed eye on one palm, an open mouth on the other
Carries: A bone dagger, a pouch of whisper-coins, black ribbon vow in left ear
Personality:
Aevar speaks softly and rarely repeats himself. He often quotes the final words of fallen rebels and treats memory as sacred currency. He believes symbols are stronger than swords, and loss more motivating than victory. While loyal to the cause of the Hollow Masks, he operates according to his own long, unreadable logic.
Trait: Speaks in riddles, frequently quoting the dead
Ideal: “Erase the name, and you erase the power.”
Role in the Story:
Aevar first appears at Marrow’s outcove following the Burnshaft Row ambush. His presence is quiet but unsettling, a reminder that not all rebels are heroes—and not all masks are worn to hide. He offers the party cryptic opportunities and missions with consequences deeper than they appear.
“When the Pact comes with fire and chains… don’t look for heroes. Look for those who vanish before the first scream.”
