Brunahaugr (/bʀyːnæɦaʊɡɚ/)

What used to be a small village is now reduced to nothing but ashes, when an unknown group attacked. The village was destroyed, with all but two survivors, who were captured and sent to a prison camp.

Demographics

The vast majority of the population was human, though some people were half-bloods of different descriptions. No individual was ostracised for their appearance or beliefs, though many shared in their faith to begin with. No one person was too wealthy or too poor, and work was evenly divided so that everyone could contribute in a way that used their greatest strengths. Some were hunters, some were warriors, some were blacksmiths, and others were masons, among many different professions.

Government

The village was led by its Elder, and though there were no official laws, everyone followed a code of conduct. The Elder was responsible for dispensing advice and organising events.

Infrastructure

Due to the location of the village, buildings were built out of insulating materials, such as thick wood and stone as a base. Simple paths were constructed for easier travel. The constant cold meant that there were no streams, so an area on the outskirts of the village was designated for water-gathering, in which a hole would be drilled into the ice of a frozen river, and water extracted from beneath.
