According to the Zoologica en Totalia, initially penned by Anika de Jennah in the Sixth Iteration, the concept of human-animal hybridization was an abomination and a corruption. Only two Iterations later, the Second Genesis, incorrectly shortened to Sekjhen, have become the fastest-growing species of sentient hominids on Nycos.

Mortals

Mortals are they who have inhabited Nycos and, for the most part, live in tenuous, if limited, harmony with the other races. Mortals are found in nearly every environment on Nycos, but population centers remain in relatively temperate to tropical climes, adjacent to the Seas and/or arable farmland. Hair and skin colors vary across the spectrum of shads from extremely fair-skinned with blonde or red hair, to extremely dark-skinned with auburn to black hair, and nearly every combination in between. Though the nations are sometimes separated by hundreds of leagues, international trade follows literally eons-old roads and byways. As has always been the case, trade is spotty but continuous, with individual wagoneers and sophisticated caravans tens of miles long crisscrossing the world on established or improvised passages. Oftentimes Airships ply the skies, and always, shipping, particularly coastal endeavors reach most corners of civilization. Adventure groups have passed quite literally through every hex of the continental maps, but very few have ever forayed more than three hexes into the blackwaters of the Outer Seas.   Stemming from the Mortals, the Second Genesys created a plethora of species, races deriving from humanity but taking on characteristics of the other animals of the world. They are included in the Mortals Root, as many of their characteristics are merely cosmetic in game practicality.       Quick Learners - Cognizance - unwavering & intense desire to learn, to know.
