True Believers
A sect of philosopher-monks, True Believers have charged themselves with believing the world into being.
Many cultures have expressed a weighting toward one side of the twin realms of Dream and Reality. While the Ironwrights believe that the world is entirely Reality, with Dream an inconvenient appendage, the Veivas sect believe the opposite: that the world is entirely Dream and that physical Reality only exists as a consensus fiction, dreamt into being by the weight of millions of simultaneous dreamers.
The sect believes that the world will end if all the dreamers wake up, or if the dream diverges to the point of incoherence. To counteract this, the Veivas' monastic class - the Vinu Duamãous (True Believers) - consider it their duty to believe in the world and, thereby, sustain it.
Young True Believers live among their communities, undertaking fasts and other feats of stamina, and performing manual tasks in exchange for sustenance and the opportunity to observe the work. They are required to observe and collect sensations, leading to an outsider perspective of Believers as hedonists at best or sadists at worst as they collect and curate whichever sensations they feel drawn to.
True Believers spend their time in deep contemplation of the overlooked sensations of the world - sensations like the sound of an ant's footsteps, the taste of the wind, or the odour of lightning.
A Believer drawn to bread, for example, might expose themself to the appearance, taste, texture, sound, and scent of dough made using different grains, at different stages of production. They are trained to remember and recall sensation with clarity so close top perfection that it is said that they can sustain themselves on just the memory of food.
Another part of the True Believers' duties is that of cataloguing all known concepts of the world, hedging against the displacement of any one Reality. They hold no opinion of the world, but endeavour to believe in all Realities equally and indifferently.
