Annan is the premier perfumer of North Erwa, producing limited edition and personalised scents for a small number of clients each year.

Nostalgia is their most recent limited offering: a perfume that recalls the wearer's happiest childhood memories. The actual scent of Nostalgia is therefore unique to each individual.

Launched at the Grande Winter Expo in 5.920, the year the The Mage War finally ended, Nostalgia captured the mood of the time: hope for a better future built on a happier past. The option to purchase the first run was allocated by lottery and limited to patrons of the Expo. A new limited run has been produced every year since, always sold out before its release.

Nostalgia's bottle was designed by Bekaye Oumar and produced by the Ämirxan Glassworks, with the pealescent glass bottles capped by cultured gold-pearl stopppers.

A closely-guarded industry secret, the main ingredient for Nostalgia is distilled from the Memory-soul through an adapted enfleurage process. The donor is bathed, oiled, and massaged, then recalls their happiest memories through a process developed in conjunction with Ophonéan mentalists. The vibrant memories soak into the oil, which is then recovered and washed with alcohol to draw the memories into the alcohol. The alcohol is then evaporated to leave the absolute of the memory.

The process of extracting the memories necessarily blunts the donor's recall, and each donor can only undergo extraction three times before the memory is too degraded to use. Although Annan refers to the individuals whose memories are extracted as "donors", they are paid for their memories and donors are commonly drawn from impoverished and displaced communities.
