The covenant of Radiance- part of a book in the library of the academy of hard knocks, recorded by Archivist Selina Veythalis (Libarian and scribe), written the day after the accord signing.

I remember the day the sky itself, trembled. I was the scribe that day. My brother, stood next to me, for what i now recall to be the last time, as i dipped my quill in the ink that the angels provided. How kind of them, knowing we were low on supplies. Our new friends sought nothing but knowledge and we were happy to provide, knowledge for knowledge, or hopefully knowledge for supplies. Thier eyes were bright with unanswered questions just like ours, and they offered to share knowledge from across the great skies, a way which we have not been able to do before. Thier smiles were beautiful, full of hope and too perfect to doubt.   I wrote the accord, yesterday to share truth across the ages, revealing in the open libraries, and the chances that could come from this. The beings with wings asked only for names, nothing against the vast arrays of texts in our libraries. in return they offered to share, what they learn with us. A deal, wieghted entirely in our favour. Thier lord, offered peace and salvation, and protection, but we had seen the truth, where in our academy, a single spell written incorrectly, could tear a continent from the sky. If he could protect us from that happening, what is there to lose?   My brother walked away, whispering in my ear about ownership, but i told him not to be paranoid, they cant own what is thiers to take. I signed that contract in my own blood, aware that every child would be safe under this accord, and a chance to be free. It was and remains, the greatest act of kindness i have ever seen, signing that accord, in the history of this world. It was only the next day i learned about the doors to the crucible being shut and my brother leading thier cause. They called us cowards, and retreted into the shadows, locking the crucible and hiding knowledge for those who just wish for it to be free. We worried about them, knocked on the doors, but they refused to answer, thier runes creating a barrier that we cant get through.   Hopefully some day my brother will see past his paranoia and the chances that this accord gives us. In the meantime, i told the council to leave them alone. if they want to be cowards, then let them be cowards. They will soon learn how beautiful the light is.
