Trigger Point #2
The second major turning point of the characters' lives brings major political changes as well as a new important person into their lives. After being appointed as Leader of the royal knights, jade often went on patrol with the twins throughout the kingdom including the main capital city. The people grew to love their princess even more and tales of her heroics and kindness spread across the lands. She was also fierce on the battlefield, and no one dared to cross her or the twin's path. On her 18th birthday a large celebration was held as she had become of age as well as to celebrate the foundation of their kingdom. This caused the capital to become even more chaotic and crowded than normal as the dates had been combined. While on patrol before the party began a rebel group from a foreign nation took advantage of the large occasion and attempted to overthrow the castle. The rebels first spread chaos throughout the city to distract the guards and keep them away from the capital. They injured and killed many commoners and set their homes and shops on fire. As the trio were attempting to help with the mayhem, a woman ran over and alerted them to a house with a family trapped inside. They were the victims' neighbors and knew that the couple had just moved there with their recently born child. None had come out of the house, and many were afraid it was already too late, however after reaching the home, Jade heard a child's cry from inside. She made use of her wind ability and created a path through the flames to reach those stuck inside. Sadly, the man had already passed, and the woman was barley clinging to life. Before she passed, she asked Jade to protect her precious baby and placed her in Jade's arms. Jade took the baby to safety and asked the neighbors if the couple had any other relatives to entrust the child with. The couple had been alone and had no one to contact so Jade decided she would keep and raise the baby herself. The trio was then informed that the rebels had breached the castle and were making their way towards the king and queen in the throne room. She left the baby with a kind old neighbor until she could return, and the trio left to defend the palace. Due to her assassin skills, Jade and the twins quickly arrived at the castle and contained the rebels in the ballroom and climbed to the rafters to assist and spy on the rebel leaders who had cornered the king and queen in the throne room. Full of pride the monarchs refused to kneel and somehow sensing their child ordered her to take their lives before the rebels could. Jade dropped down and ended her own parents lives then overtook the rebel group capturing the leaders. Soon after the rebels were tried and executed for the murders of the former monarchs and several of the high nobility. Jade was crowned queen and began to rule. Afterwards, they returned for the baby, naming her Alice. The trio chose to keep Alice hidden though as they feared the turmoil in the palace would put Alice in danger and that she could potentially face the horrors they had once had to endure.
The Conflict
Battlefield
The capital was filled with visitors from many regions and countries. This included commoners, foreign merchants, and nobility and royalty coming to celebrate Hali Kingdom's crown princess come of age. Due to the influx of people and strange foreigners, it was hard to maintain their normally tight security and guards were stretched thin needing to be all over the city at once. This caused the perfect opportunity for rebel groups to strike.
