Hali

Hali is a word originating from Navajo, meaning sea. This refers to the vast sea protecting the Eastern border of the powerful empire. Hali is the home country of the main protagonist who also rules over the country as empress. Once a decent size country, neither small nor large, grew into a vast and powerful empire under the young empress due to swallowing up many countries that tried to invade due to the countries political turmoil at the time of her coronation as well as smart tactics greatly improving their agriculture and economy. *Research different geographical aspects of the country as well as agricultural and economical improvements that would be reasonable of the protagonist to have made.

Structure

The Hali empire has a two step structure of power which allows for situations of both young rulers as well as siblings of rulers. It is a monarchy and the Highest position is that of an Empress or Emperor. They have absolute power and while the have a council of advisors, they do not have to listen to any advice given if they do not will it. The second highest position is that of a Queen or King. This position is for monarch who have to take over leadership before their coming of age like the protagonist. However this situation is not common and is mostly used for the second oldest or second most favored sibling of the royal family. The position allows for rulers under 18, however they most take into account the advice of the royal council and can be denied a decree if the council unanimously votes against it, for the safety of the people. Once a queen or king turn 18 they may take over the position of empress or emperor if the role is vacant. If it is not their role is to assist and support the head monarch.

Capital City of Hali
The Capital is a thriving city in front of the Royal palace known for it's diversity and unique marketplace featuring wares from across the country as well as items imported from around the globe. It also has a large academy that only produces the best scholars and warriors in the country and many graduates have gone on to be candidates for royal knights and ambassadors representing the empire, as well as other prestigious jobs. It is surrounded by a large wall that keeps all threats away including invading armies that tried and failed to seize the city. The protagonist also enjoys walking through the streets in disguise and watching how the people interact and what their daily lives are like.
