Wristgun
Wristguns were developed in the 9th century NE, and saw widespread use during the time.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Basic Wristguns consist of a short barrel strapped to a vambrace, which fires pointed bullets propelled by gunpowder. The trigger is controlled by the users thumb, which fires when the fist is clenched and the thumb is pressed down. The reload mechanism is used by the user twising their fist, which opens the chamber and feeds it a round from a magazine on the forearm.
History
Invented in the 9th century NE, wristguns quickly rendered pike warfare obsolete, and were adopted worldwide soon after. Wristguns were the standard until the introduction of the Pinshot in the 10th century. Some variants of wristgun survived however, being used for more specialized roles.
