Plane Zero
Plane Zero is the hypothetical dimension beyond the four that humans percieve. Ancient humanity sought to breach this plane and use it for FTL travel, whereupon The Desolation was unleashed.
Prometheus theorizes that Plane Zero is inhabited by higher beings, who for unknown reasons do not tolerate intrusions into their domain. The true origins and nature of these beings remains a mystery. Prometheus believes these entities to be the great filter of universal life, and that any civilization advanced enough to breach Plane Zero is swiftly extinguished.
Geography
Incomprehensible to the human mind, Plane Zero appears to observers as a chaotic realm of ephemeral shapes and colours. Standard laws of physics do not exist in this dimension, and three dimensional objects quickly begin to break down after entry.
Localized Phenomena
Physics as they are known do not apply in Plane Zero, thus it is completely uninhabitable. Among the chaos of abstract visuals, stable entities have been witnessed taking form before sealing the planar breach.
History
After experimenting with a planar breach, ancient humans were suddenly overwhelmed by The Desolation, which led to the end of their civilozation.
