TP: 200
Feat Slots: 5
Weapons: Swords
Tools: None
Saving Throws: DEX, WIS
Skills: Choose two from Acrobatics, Athletics, History, Insight, Intimidation, Investigation, Perception, and Survival
Grants you one attack or parry with your sword, to be used immediately. Can only be used if you ended your last turn in an Iai stance. Unlike other ultimates, using this ultimate does not set your UP to 0; rather it only deducts 5 from the gauge.
Your Guard, Parry, and Dodge actions are upgraded to the Iai stances of Setsu-no-kamae, Getsu-no-kamae, and Hana-no-kamae respectively. Unlike their normal versions, Iai stances are not consumed after the first attack they are used against. However, they can be broken if you take damage from an attack that the stance is not designed to counter. Whenever you end a turn, you automatically choose an Iai stance to take. You may also consume 5 UP with an Iai Slash to change your stance instead. Whenever you enter an Iai stance outside of your turn, your stance will be consumed when you use it as if it were a normal instance of Dodge/Parry/Guard.
Carry up to nine swords at once, treating their weight as 1/9th of their normal value. When you make an attack from an Iai stance, you may draw any of these swords, automatically changing your currently equipped weapon to the sword/s you select. Successfully landing an attack (excluding Hissatsu abilities) with one of your swords grants you 1 stack of Kaigan, once per each individual sword you own, up to a maximum of 9 stacks. Kaigan is used to execute powerful Hissatsu skills– though you cannot use more than 1 Hissatsu skill between each of your turns.
[1 Kaigan] As an attack or as a reaction while in an Iai stance, dash forward up to 15 feet and strike the opponent with a single swift slice of your blade. Upon sheathing your blade, a whirlwind of sword slashes faster than the eye can see eviscerate your opponent. The opponent must make a CON save with DC equivalent to your sword’s to-hit bonus + your WIS. On fail, they take damage equivalent to your sword’s damage die, and lose PC equivalent to 15-(CON+(5-V)), where V the Vulnerability tier of their armor to slashing damage.
[2 Kaigan] Choose two of your swords. As an attack, make a powerful overhead blow with your first sword, applying Stagger (I) x1 and immediately entering an Iai stance of your choice with your second sword. If your first attack provokes a reaction attack from your enemy, immediately retaliate with your second sword, dealing guaranteed critical, max-rolled damage and negating your opponent’s reaction.
While you have no negative mental status effects, the UP roll of your Meditate action always rolls maximum.
[3 Kaigan] Choose three of your swords, and assign to each one of the three following buffs; Ku, Mujō, and Muga.
You may throw your swords with a range equivalent to d20 + DEX + 10 feet, with damage dealt at disadvantage. Once per turn, as a free action you may teleport to the location of any of your swords within a range of 200 feet.
[4 Kaigan] Choose four of your swords, and assign to each one of the four following buffs; Haru-no-kokyu, Natsu-no-kokyu, Aki-no-kokyu, and Fuyu-no-kokyu.
You may wield up to three of your swords simultaneously for your attacks, instead of the usual two. Whenever you land attacks with two of your swords that you are currently wielding, you may as a bonus action make an immediate attack with the third sword.
Your sword attacks unleash waves of energy that travel up to 60 feet away, dealing half the normal damage of the attack if against an enemy outside the normal reach of your weapon.
[5 Kaigan] Choose five of your swords, and order them in a sequence. Upon your next attack, or as a reaction while in an Iai stance, execute a five-part technique that channels the power of the elements:
[6 Kaigan] A technique that evolves as you execute other Hissatsu techniques. Depending on the number of Hissatsu techniques you have executed before executing Hissatsu: Rokudō, a different effect will trigger. Upon executing Hissatsu: Rokudō, the counter resets to 0. You must have executed at least one other Hissatsu technique before you are able to use Hissatsu: Rokudō.
[1 Kaigan] Immediately repeat a singular move under a Hissatsu technique, such as Hissatsu: Isshin, Hissatsu: Sanbōin: Muga, or Hissatsu: Godai: Kaze. Can only be executed once per move, and only immediately after the move has completed.
[7 Kaigan] Enter an elevated state of enlightened consciousness. In order to execute this skill, you must meet the following requirements:
[8 Kaigan] Requires the Satori buff to use. The serenity of your mind causes your blades to become colder than the eight cold hells of Jigoku. Rapidly slash your enemies in a 60 foot radius with eight of your swords, making an attack with each and inflicting Bleed (VII), Chilled (VII), and Freeze (III) with a damage die equivalent to that of one of your eight swords chosen at random. Upon sheathing your blades, the extreme cold causes the enemy’s flesh to burst open, the blood freezing in a manner that resembles a crimson lotus.
At 18th level, you can attack five times, instead of four, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
[9 Kaigan] Requires the Satori buff to use. Ascend to the highest form of consciousness, transcending the limits of mortal flesh. Split your consciousness into nine parts, summoning eight astral clones of yourself and placing them within a 200 foot radius of yourself, assigning each clone one of your nine swords and a location in the turn order. Each of the eight astral clones is permitted one movement action and one ability action. After executing this ability, dispel Satori and reset your UP and Kaigan to 0.
