Northern Flock
Divitiae in Gelu
Basic Information
Anatomy
Mostly they look like material plane sheep and ram with clear white wool, black hooves, and their wool can range from thick and rich to barely a layer of it.
What makes them special though, are different things:
-Their pairs of horns, females have one, males have two, one curved back, the other curved forward. These are able to channel elemental ice magic and can be lethal when confronted at melee. Extra caution is advised.
-Their fluffy long ears which gives them extra hearing capability, explained later in this document.
-Their impressive size compared to material plane sheep. Some specimens have been seen at a standing shoulder height of 2 meters and a body width of almost a meter! Nonetheless, they are able to outrun even the fastest of races when they feel endangered. Just marvelous!
-And, last but definitely not least, their precious arcane wool. A great inhibitor of magic which protects them against elemental attacks of any kind, proving them extremely resilient against natural disasters, spellcasters, and their own neighboring fauna, The Frozen Ones.
Sadly, this is also the reason why they are actively hunted on sight, mostly by barbarian communities and Frostfallen soldiers, so they may be serve as a layer of armor coating to protect humanoids from incoming magical attacks. A sad reality which has made the Northern Sheep to migrate even more to the North, so an appearance of just one specimen has become a yearly event.

Ecology and Habitats
Even if the entire North is considered to be their original natural habitat, ever since the humanoid migration to the North after the War of the Great Houses and the Great Fall, the Northern Flock have naturally migrated to the Permafrost, the massive ice sheet which covers the eastern part of the North. And its there where they have lived and reproduced for the past couple of decades, perhaps for their best.
