Demon: The Regent Signal

Chronicle Outline

It compiles 5,000,166 times. Execute. Exception found. Exception resolved. It compiles 5,000,167 times. Execute. Exception found. Exception conflict. It compiles 5,000,168 times. Execute. Function error.   Something is wrong. The God-Machine is slower to respond to breaches than it once was. Infrastructure previously thought active is found abandoned. The Unchained of Nova Secundus are growing confident, and confidence is a vice not a virtue for rogues of the machine. Striking out further, some revel in their power, others busy about disassembling what the God-Machine had built. But a few wiser demons are trying to learn what is the cause of this change.     However there is one thing that could shed light on the truth of things. A message, an echo, a signal caught on the ether. Humans might mistake it for an old numbers station but one of the Unchained know better. Number stations are often just part of some infrastructure, carrying commands, relaying warnings or whispering occult secrets. The Regent Signal has been broadcasting constantly about a function error and ominously the number of attempts to compile continue to increase.   In this chronicle players take on the role of elder demons in the city of Nova Secundus. You may already be part of the same ring or agency, just as likely you are forming a new ring with the goal of investigating the regent signal.
