Damir “The Broker” Kappert

Introduction

There is no greater source of information, or a sponge for it, than Damir Kapper, or as his friends call him, The Broker. Styling himself as a kind of arms dealer for the information age, the Inquisitor Analyst grew to some prominence in the Demonic rings and agencies of the city long before he was irrevocably drafted into The Sworn.

Facade

Damir has a measure of fame in the city as a reporter for the The Nova Secundus Tribune. In fact, most every official has probably at least spoken to Damir once or twice over the last few years. Even so, he has a healthy habit of keeping out of the full limelight. Preferring to write articles and almost never appearing on any of the Tribune's local news channels or online video reports.   He lives in a small apartment studio in Downtown that gives him ready access to his place of work and the most important people in the city.

Truth

"Damir Kapper" is only the latest cover pieced together by the demon who prefers to be called The Broker. Other covers that The Broker has employed over the years include a museum curator, a junior city councilor, and a community relations executive.   The Broker is a an Analyst, meaning that their very nature lends them to soaking up as much information as they can. Though unlike some of its fellow analysts, The Broker enjoys a measure of social interaction, or at least informational transactions.   When they became aware of contagion it was not long before the demon became a part of the Rosetta Society. The Sworn is for The Broker more of a marriage of convenience. Nevertheless, they have found themselves the largest figurehead of their particular faction within the city.

Rumors

  • Other demons whisper of an artificial world, a Hell that The Broker built as its bolthole from the entire city should The Sworn fail.
  • For others in The Sworn The Broker is considered a little suspect. They seem less interested in combating the contagion than just watching it from afar. Though whether this is just the Rosetta's way of dealing with it or The Broker's own lack of investment is unclear.
  • A few pacts remain in The Broker's office drawers, some of the names of which are not merely mortals.
"The world is completely full of almost honest people. I almost completely trust them all."
