Quire Village
The Village at the outermost boundaries of Nova Gloriana's territory.
Village is a bit of a misnomer, now, as the settlement has grown over the genrations since Nova Gloriana's founding into a self-sustained city in its own right.
This "Village" was first founded by the Six Guilds. Together with the newer, non-founding Guilds, they preside over and govern the affairs of Quire for "Quire is the beating heart of Gloriana"
Quire is where you can find most of Gloriana's tradespeople and artesans.
Government
The Quire Council is comprised of all the Guild Heads or GuildMasters. Together, they oversee, legislate and police all that goes on that concerns Quire with the singular focus of keeping the village and its inhabitants safe and profitable.
Defences
The village is protected by recent graduates of the Military Academy under the watch and supervision of the Village Guard. The Village Guard is comprised of senior officers who have grown to old to keep up with the demands of the Citadel but still want to be of service to Nova Gloriana. Theirs is a sort of working retirement where they use their position in Quire to offer more personalised mentorship to the recent Military Academy graduates. The Military Academy grads are sent to Quire as their first posting in order to familiarise them with interacting with the citizenry and learning to function as a part of the community that they are supposed to protect.
Industry & Trade
Presided over by the Six Guilds, Quire Village is responsible for the majority of Nova Gloriana's metal, stone works annd agriculture. There would be no roads, houses or even running water in Nova Gloriana without the sustained efforts of the Guilds.
People come from all over Nova Glorina's territories and beyond to trade, apprentice and perform.
Infrastructure
Because the Quire Village is home to Nova Gloriana's artesans, it is known for its splendid roads, the aqueducts, the library containing supplementary copies and first editions of all of Nova Gloriana's texts. Because of its roaring trade, an auxilliary community of traders and sellers sprung up to make the Quire Village as self-sustaining community.
Districts
Each Founding Guild is responsible for the oversight and governance of a corresponding District within Quire Village. However, there are also some districts that have been developed and maintained by the newer non-founding Guilds.
The Metallurgy District:
Presided over by the Metallurgical Guild, this is the part of Quire Village where all of the forgers, blacksmiths and jewellry makers reside and trade.
The Surveillance District:
This is where you can go to engage the services of any retired officer or Guardsman. The residents of this district keep to themselves unless an issue arises that can affect the entire village.
The Hospitality District:
All of the inns and public houses are located here. If you are making your way to Quire Village, then you are most likely to find lodging in this district. Other districts can house outsiders, but this is where travellers are guaranteed to find a bed for as long as they wish to stay in or pass through Quire.
The Agricultural District:
By far, the largest district of Quire as it encircles the outter most boundaries of the settlement. This is where roughly half of Nova Gloriana's food is grown and cultivated.
The Masonry District:
Here is where Nova Gloriana's architects, builders and sculptors reside. If you want something built, designed or are looking to access information about the very foundations of Nova Gloriana, this is where you come.
The Merchants' District:
In the very centre of Quire, you will find this district. It is where everyone in Quire comes to trade. All of Nova Gloriana's goods and services are trafficked through this district and if you want the best, you will make the journey here for the monthly Market Day and the annual quire Festival.
The Printing & Binding District:
This district is responsible for the printing and binding, not only of every publicly available book in Nova Gloriana, but every privately available work within the city-state and the translations of any and all foreign texts that come into Nova Gloriana.
The Garment District:
The majority of the textitles that can be purchased in Nova Gloriana are sourced, woven, printed and even tailored here.
Assets
Quire is situated on top of the largest contiguous piece of arable land in all of Nova Gloriana. But that is only one of its assets. As the Quire settlement expanded, surveyors found that there were large mineral deposits that the Guilds could lay claim to. It is partially due to the abundance of these minerals in the ground, that the land is so fertile.

The Village is goverened by a council containing representatives of each Guild.
The Metallurgical Guild, The Surveillance Guild, The Hospitality Guild, The Farming Guild, The Architectural Guild and the Mercantile Guild
History
Said to be built on the final settlement where the Third Architect first announced that the first citizens of Nova Gloriana would be able to leave the wildernes, Quire Village was founded by the members of the final settlement who did not want to move to the citadel and brokered a deal wherein they would still be afforded citizenship of Nova Gloriana.
Tourism
There is an annual Quire Festival that is sponsored by all of the Guilds.
Once a year, the residents of Quire Village invite Nova Gloriana and any other travellers to partake in games, food, music, dancing and contests. It is an opportunity for young people to find out if they are eligible for apprenticeships in Quire. (Young people are free to come at any point in the year seeking training, but the festival is the most likely time of year that those efforts will be rewarded).
