The Sunward Coast (Southern Coastline)
Climate: Mediterranean—hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters.
Geography: Golden beaches, rocky cliffs, and natural harbors. The mouth of the Waterspine River opens here, forming a broad, fertile delta.
Culture/Strategic Role: Spiritually significant (closest to the midday sun) and economically vital. Golden-domed prayer towers dot the coast. Ports here connect Athezia to its colonies and maritime trade partners throughout Nothros so they are more cosmopolitan trade hubs and often seen as more "worldly" than other parts of the region.
The Winds' Coast (Western Coastline)
Climate: Temperate and wetter due to oceanic winds.
Geography: Rolling hills, fertile plains, and steep cliffs in the northwest.
Culture/Strategic Role: hipbuilding and fishing are the lifeblood of this region, with hardy coastal communities known for everything from deep-sea trawling to harvesting shellfish and barnacles from wave-battered cliffs. While not as commercially central as the Sunward Coast, western ports still play a significant role in maritime trade with other Bastion Realms, especially Kalisandria and Marcastria.
