The Blessed Whip of Gibelina Bachmann

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Nothing too complicated is needed to make the whip work, but in order to unleash it's holy energy one must be attuned to the weapon in such a way as to be one with the whip. This is done through meditation and prayer--though sometimes the will of the gods can prove finicky. This can prove even more unreliable depending on what the whip is being used for, such as unjustified punishment against an innocent, or plain cruel intentions.

Manufacturing process

Most paladins who enter the faith of Aldwin first choose their prefer weapon, then draw the correct sigil on an altar dedicated to Aldwin--usually this altar is outside--and pray to him under the full light of day. Gibelina chose a whip, believing that it would deal those most painful, and most prolonged punishment, and used it mercilessly against those she deemed sinners. Against her preferred game, demons, she could proved even more brutal, as most of the kills were by the whip alone, and her kills would be covered head to toe in lashes.

Significance

This is one of the few artifacts of the Bachmann family that is still in use--another notable example being Tassiter Bachmann's Twin Six-shooters--and is passed down from Bachmann to Bachmann. Like Tassiter's guns it is a badge of honor to receive this whip, as it denotes one who's shown tremendous courage as a monster hunter, or one who displays a strong sense of justice.

Rarity
Enchanted weapons aren't uncommon, though few weapons are enchanted by holy mana, being used exclusively by paladains, though a holy whip is exceedingly rare, as such a weapon is seen as more torturous, and unfit to deal swift punishment.
Raw materials & Components
As with most holy enchantments, chalk--but no candles are needed--and since Aldwin is being invoked gold is required--it can be as small as a coin, though the more gold the better.
