The Bashenstan Grassland
The Bashenstan grassland is a tough place to live, but it can reward a bounty of game and forageable resources to those that call it home. The cultural home to the Merkish, it is the home of some of the oldest settlements in Cantumland.
Geography
The grasslands north of Ivaksaupik River, east of Sickle Bay, west of Alengul River and south of Kjelfos River.
It is a flat landscape, sitting about 200 meters above sea level. A series of small lakes dot the southern border, but the majority is very dry year round.
Ecosystem
Deep rooted shrubbery and hardy grasses make up most of the land, which takes better to grazing animals and hunting rather than farming the shallow rooted plants popular on the southern coast.
Ecosystem Cycles
It is regularly struck with wistorms in the mid autumn, rejuvenating the area with wist which it naturally flows out of it.
