in Noria

Information specific to Noria's History   In the beginning, there was nothing. And then, out of nowhere, there was Something. This "Something" is now known as the Archon Beast. This entity had no form, no shape, and no existence yet, because there was nothing. And so, it created everything. And this everything was made of Umbra. The "everything" that it created is now known as the world of Noria, including the entire universe that this dimension encompasses. The specific unique occurance about this, though, is that the continent of Noria is what we witness first. Everything else, including the infinite void outside of Noria, is the Archon Beast.   The Archon Beast created Noria and it's own individual planet, however, it was a unique design. This planet was interdimensional and broken. The place we know as the continent of Noria resides inside the planet, in its depths. Gravity has been affected by the Archon Beast to have the creatures of Noria assume they are existing on a normal planet, with it's curved and spherical shape. While this is true to their society, in reality, the continent and oceans of Noria exist on the inside of the hollow sphere of the planet, with illusion creating a night sky and the effect of normalcy.   On the outside of this planet is something quite different. There are no creatures, there are no structures, there is not even any land. It is simply a mass, an unknown mass, known as the Archon Beast. Noria is the upside-down depths of the planet, while the Archon Beast is the void outside of everything.  

Noria is Hell, and the Archon Beast itself is the Heavens.

  The Archon Beast is still a creature, however, and hungers. This "hunger," requires something different from normal food, though. A creature such as this, in a world of its own design, cannot just eat what it creates. In the system of the multiverse, there is another energy type: Mana. The Archon Beast knows this, and also recognizes that the beast itself is made up of Mana, and hungers for all of it. But it cannot just reach for it, as it is trapped here, and neither can it devour it's own self. To generate enough energy to reach, the Archon Beast constructs the Fallow Trees within its creation.   The Fallow Trees are erected, 8 in number. The largest sits in the center of the continent. The others are spread randomly along the borders and edges of the lands. Each of these trees are directly connected to the Archon Beast through the earths of the planet. While it drains energies and matters through the trees, it also grants a multitude of things to the lands as well. This includes light, magics, and life.   To begin, however, the Archon Beast needed conscious creatures to rule over the planet to generate the right amount of energy for it. And so, the beast created Humanity. Not only did the beast create the trees, but it also created a tool to have power over the trees. This tool was given to the First, Marika. It recognized this image, and started with 8. Marika was the first. She was born of the largest Fallow Tree, at the center of the continent. She had no childhood, and was born a young adult female. The other 7 are named as follows: Godren the Hungry, Radagon the Lover, Miquella the Crazed, Melana the Rotted, Jiean the Stag, Lunara the Stars, and Charlette the Innocent. Each of these individuals were granted powers beyond regular magics present in the world of Noria. Godren, Lunara, and Radagon were born young teenagers, Miquella and Melana were born young children, and Jiean and Charlette were born infants. Only Marika was born a young woman, born simply to mother the rest and maintain queenship over the kingdoms. The Archon Beast decided, to keep the balances of the world plausibly maintained, each individual was imbued with the power of a celestial element, or sin.   Godren, imbued with the sin of Gluttony, hungers for power he can never grasp. Radagon, imbued with the sin of Lust, longs for a love beyond his reach. Miquella, imbued with the sin of Sloth, finds himself starved of reality. Jiean, imbued with the sin of Greed, seeks nothing but the freedom to live. Charlette, imbued with the sin of Wrath, channels her fury into her townspeople. And finally, Lunara, imbued with the sin of Envy, curses her Gods and seeks refuge in the stars.   After these individuals, who coined the term "Baronarians," were created, so were the other denizens of Noria. They were simpler beings, and each individual born of a Fallow Tree was meant to lead over their grouped peoples. Each tree also became a pivotal location for a town, city, or monument. Charlette created the town of Terth to the Northwest, Godren established the renowned city Cormount in the Southern Aelfield region, Melana created Aeonia, a city wrapped around her Fallow Tree in the Northeast of Votaria, Lunara coined her castle Curio at the center of Lorwynne, and Miquella established the quaint city of Redwater, on an island to the East, between the border edges of Votaria and Cormount. Meanwhile, Jiean the Stag and Radagon the Lover established nothing. Those two had decided to relinquish their people to Marika, as leadership is a quality that is not shared among every Baronarian.   Radagon himself relinquished his own freedom to rule with Marika, by her side. Jiean gave them up because of their unique properties of being born with animalistic features. Citizens of Noria were often prejudiced against people with wolf snouts or owl eyes, and as a result, Marika took most of them in to live within Paragon, free from that prejudice. Radagon gave up his citizens because he had no love for them, only for his one true love; Lunara. Marika reluctantly took in his people, mostly converting them into her own Golden Order.   The world was created, and Noria began developing. After a long period of peace, a terrible tragedy struck. The tragedy was known as the Two Strikes. The first strike was heard in the middle of the night, when the Fallow Trees were sleeping. Marika had struck the Fallow Wick, the trinket gifted to her by the Archon Beast to have power over Noria, and shattered it. All of the sins felt their power longing to return to them, and wanted answers. Before anybody could understand what had happened, there was the second strike. Radagon, within he and Marika's home within the Great Fallow Tree, had struck the Fallow Wick a second time, in an attempt to fix it. This, unfortunately, made everything worse, as this second strike broke the Wick completely into pieces, all disappearing into mist. This sent all of its energies and strengths back into their sources; the sins and their respective Fallow Trees. Marika was gone, and the world of Noria went into madness.   Castle Curio's residents were lost to insanity, ending their own Queen's life, Lunara, and leaving her to dead in the Castle Library at the top of the tallest tower. Cormount in Aelfield was driven to madness, butchering and slaughtering their own men, women, and children, and establishing a new city called Lockinge. Votaria was lost to the Rot, sourced by the tragedy striking Melana and her people. Many of her citizens died willingly to her Rot, leaving the wasteland mostly empty, disregarding the large amount of animals and creatures effected by the Rot.  

This beautiful world was lost, and there was no end for the madness within sight.

 

That was.. until a small portal ripped itself through.. to a new one.
