Pockets of death

Pockets of death are immensly deep holes that unexpectedly open. They are thought to be caused by Radioactive magic originating in the deep underground.

Frequency

On average 2 or 3 pockets of death form each year. They last about 5 years before closing themselves. It is thought that once a pocket of death has opened, no others will open in the 50 km (approximately 30 miles) for the next 2-3 thousand years.

Famous pockets of death

The norcocen deathpocket

On the 43rd of fimo 1163a, a pocket of death opened in Norcocen during the construction works, killing 12 people. The pocket of death was later reinfoced and is now home to the great lift.

The ironvein pocket of death

The city of Earthvein was created around a death pocket containing many precious materials. The pocket has since closed, but the mining work has continued wit artificial mines.
