Wallacian Campaign Session #37
General Summary
- Party met with Dame Wilkendal and told her that their group was called the "Westland Wanderers". Dame Wilkendal then told her assistant to draft a letter of recommendation to the Mercenary Guild using that name.
- Laeanna then attuned to the magical dagger the party had found in the ancient ruin. She determined that it was a Vampire Dagger. Zoi took possession of the dagger, then attuned and bonded to it.
- The party visited the local leather worker, Jake Tanner, and purchased some leather strips, which Zoi used to craft 3 nice bolos and one average bolo.
- That night at the Boarshead Inn, the party sampled the most expensive drink in town, "black mead", at 5 gp per bottle.
- Talking to various townsfolk, the party learned that many had heard that the roads were less safe now than they have been under the previous army commander. However, no one had first hand experience of this; instead, they had heard from a "sibling of a cousin" or a "friend of a friend". It seemed that seeing fewer army patrols had convinced the locals that this must mean more crime was taking place.
- The next morning, the party resolved to travel cross-country back to Westport to deliver the letter of recommendation. The large number of farms in that direction caused the party to stick to the roads initially.
- Spotting a small gully to the side of the road, Zoi ducked into the underbrush in search of possible crafting supplies. She was surprised to see a woman and two men at the bottom of the gully. The woman looked surprised, and a bit uneasy. She was already harvested some wild herbs that Zoi would have been interested in. The two men had short swords on their belts, and looked stern. The second man told Zoi that this was their land to harvest, and told her to move along. Zoi returned to the road, and the second man followed her. He watched the party depart until they were out of sight.
- Later in the day, the party was ambushed by the remaining members of the Storm Crows. While a couple members were well bloodied in the fight, the party eventually was victorious. The killed most of the Storm Crows, but captured the last of their attackers, a human woman calling herself "Haze". Haze had been sniping at them while hidden in a nearby tree. On the body of the leader Raven, they found a silver pendant and (in a hidden pocket) a letter. Zoi got the killing blow on Raven, and as Raven fell she cursed Zoi in the name of "Loviatar".
- The letter thanked Raven for her group's help in recovering some escaped slaves. The letter was signed "N.T.".
- The pendant was a short silver rod with several thin silver chains/wires dangling from the end.
- From all the Storm Crows the party recovered enough gold for each party-member to gain 5 gp.
