Amulet of Drowning
This small, turquoise amulet is inscribed with a trident symbol. It also has a small hole drilled through it so that a string or thin chain can be passed through it.
Charges: 1 (recharges at dawn)
If you are attuned to this amulet, you may spend an Action Point to use the amulet to inflict a curse on a creature within 10 spaces of you. A globe of water flies from the amulet towards the target's head (or nostrils, breathing orifice, etc. as applicable). The target must make a Physical Save versus your Save DC.
Success: If the target makes their save, the globe of water splashes harmlessly against the target and then disperses.
Failure: If the target fails their save, the globe of water encircles their head (or breathing orifice). Unless the target can breathe underwater (or do not need to breathe), they are unable to breathe, and begin to suffer the effects of "Holding Your Breath" as detailed in the DC20 rules. At the end of the target's turn, they can make a Repeated Physical Save versus your Save DC to dislodge the water globe and break the curse.
Another creature in an adjacent space can spend an Action Point to try to help the target of the curse. This allows the target to make a new Physical Save.
Critical Failure: The target was unable to effectively hold their breath, and immediately begins Suffocating as detailed in the DC20 rules.
The caster must Sustain the curse on each of their turns to maintain the effect. The curse lasts for one minute, or until the caster stops sustaining it.
