Reciprocity
Mythos
Creation
In the beginning, one god created the world, and entered into a contract (after they did something bad to him) with its inhabitants - for all that they gained from his creation, he would be payed. Eventually, he would reclaim the world as entirely his own, and that would mean the end of mankind.Practices
The main practice of Reciprocity is to pay god what he is due. This means, in practice, that when something is gained from the world, be it a child, marriage, a great victory on the battlefield, followers of the religion burn wood, as it is the most valuable thing known. The amount burned varies based on what gains have been gotten, and priests have developed a sophisticated system of calculating exactly how much one is due.A great victory often demands an entire tree be burned, whereas a commoners childbirth only requires a log, sometimes two.
