The Age of Eclipses began with the First Eclipse, a rare celestial event where both a solar and lunar eclipse occurred in quick succession. This event led to the awakening of latent magical abilities in various creatures and races across Nophadin.

The First Eclipse is also significant because it marked the first time the gods retreated from the mortal realm, leaving behind only their divine influence. It's said that the combined power of the solar and lunar eclipses created a barrier, separating the divine from the mortal.
