Acidic Mire

The Acidic Mire, a dangerous and unusual marshland located in remote Mistwatch, is characterized by its bubbling acid pools, dense fog, and treacherous terrain, which features sudden drops and hidden pools.
Vegetation is limited to acid-resistant species, such as acid-resistant mosses, lichens, and a few hardy shrub species. The wildlife exhibits unique adaptations for survival in this harsh environment, for example the Acidic Toad, which secretes a protective mucus, and the Mire Skimmer, an insect capable of gliding across the surface of acid pools.
These adaptations make the mire of special interest to alchemists and scholars, who seek out the mire to further their arcane studies, create potions or use the mire's resources for etching or as components in potent mixtures.
Local populations have historically regarded the Acidic Mire with fear and reverence, incorporating it into myths and legends as a place of trials and ancient knowledge.
Druidic circles revere the mire as a symbol of nature's untamed power, conducting rituals amidst the acidic pools. They see it as a symbol of nature's raw, untamed power—a reminder that life, in all its beauty, can also be fierce and unforgiving..
