Yozaret are tiny, winged, amphibian-like creatures, similar to Axolotl, that live in the
Tokevis Region of
Ossalimar. They are known to live alongside larger creatures in the world who help them to scavenge food from different regions, or provide them nutrients directly through their skin.
In the past few years, the Yozaret has started to expand to newer and different regions of the world as pods have been translocated to different parts of the world. They are able to survive in a variety of locales due to their extremely adaptable nature.
Usually around 1 to 2 feet long, the Yozart resemble an Axolotl in many ways. They possess a similar shaped head and frills, but possess eight legs. Each of these legs produce a sticky substance that allows the Yozaret to attach itself to any set of walls or the back of larger creatures. Each Yozaret has four eyes that allows them to get a better view around them, leading to a nearly 270 degree vision.
They come in a variety of different colors, but many of the Yozaret are a blue gray color. However, if they eat a enough of a specific color, their form shifts closer to the color of their diet. This has led many to discover Yozaret which are a desaturated pink or green as they eat different small crustaceans and plants.
Many Yozaret attach themselves to larger creatures as a method of protection. Many of them lack the defenses needed to keep themselves from harm. The only protection they have are a small set of barbs along the back of their spine. Many of these larger creatures are either unaware or not bothered by the presence of the Yozaret. They seem to have developed a preference for Draconic figures, recognizing their dominance in many regions, however they have also been found latched to the back of whales and other large creatures throughout
Tokevis.
The Yozaret can hunt its smaller food from the backs and sides of larger creatures, giving them a constant food source. However, if a Yozart cannot scavange food, they can slowly gain nutrients from a larger creature they are attached to using receptors in their arms. Its never enough to cause permanent damage to the creature they are attached to, but is enough to weaken them slightly. In return however, many creatures, especially dragons, have found their scales become harder and more resistant to physical attacks, with a slight acidic nature that is only effective when something touches or attacks the larger host.
Aww, I love the weird slightly sticky things. <3 I like that they seem to have a preference for draconic creatures, and that they can change colour based on what they eat. :)
