Tyranval Shademoss
Tyranval Shademoss
Lord Tyranval Shademoss is the former First Lord of Myvora and General Commandant. He was also the patriarch of House Shademoss until the time of his death, upon which his son Lord Oldvin Shademoss, became the patriarch and First Lord of Myvora.
Description
Tyranval was often respected for his calm and omniscient seeming demeanor, despite his arcane prowess, he was also very obviously capable as a fighter, able to challenge powerful people in single combat. In his later years, though his frame lost much of its muscularity and gained a bit of extra weight around the waist, he was more than able to still act with a deft agility and unseen strength. As General Commandant he had a ferocity and brutality that many of the people in Myvora thought stemmed from his heritage and the source of his magical powers. However, this brutality was always a front that his soldiers saw, those who were clost to him would realise that despite this front there was a kindness that held based on the hope for the future, for at his heart he cared more about the prosperity of the future than the sacrafices that would need to be made in the present.Biography
Early Years
Born in 509 AR, the child Tyran Shav-ro'en grew up in Nal'dos, a small town on the Golden Coast with both his parents who spend thent their days focusing on the apothecary and temple that they took care of, a small shrine to Dralva that would help be a home for those without a way to step forward. Upon becoming of age, Tyran travelled to Ankh'eal where he was able to hone his magical talents that seemed to be derived from a strange lineage of powerful magics within his bloodline. This is when he first got involved with The Obsidian Forge, training for a decade unil he rose to the title of Diamond. Upon the acquisition of this title, he was able to choose a location that would require the talents of a Diamond, he chose the city of Nagran, a location half a world away that would enable him to escape from his life but also to make a difference in a place that, at the time, required it.Nagran
It was in travelling to Naran that, the newly named, Tyranval found his love Kora Lythin. They spent many years learning together in the Nagran Archive, where the two found their love blossoming. Eventually in 551 AR the two welcomed their first child Kyral Shademoss followed two years later by their second child Oldvin Shademoss, the first two heirs of the newly formed House Shademoss, granted under order of Emperor Hykran Domvir for Tyranval's services to the nation under the Obsidian Forge. As of 567 AR, there was a keen friendship between Tyranval, Massina Leivron (the second heir of the First Family), and Kynan Domvir (The prince royal). The trio were a close set of friends and helped to raise the nobility of Tyranval whose prowess as a tactician and magic-user granted him a position on the Council of Myvora as the Master of Arcane. Once this position was secured, House Shademoss became one of the most powerful families within the nation. A large celebration was held in the honour of this title. At this time many respected Tyranval for his courrage skill and calm demeanor when speaking in public.Leivron Rebellion
As the nation entered descent during The Leivron Rebellion, Tyranval spent a number of years staying out of the conflict focusing on protecting the people of different cities from the conflict. He saw that at the end of this descent, the people of the realm will have to unite or suffer further. This position of neutrality was held until the death of his first child Kyral Shademoss. She worked as a healer and alchemist in the outer reaches of the nation and died in a burst of wild magical energies caused by the unleashing of Qronis Thora, a powerful artifact that destroyed the entire town of Korathol. After the death of Kyral and the disappearnace, presumed by many to be the death by broken heart, of Kora, Tyranval became a staunche opponent of House Domvir, to the point of moving from the nation's capital to the traditional home of the Second House in Locarik. Near the end of the rebellion there was one of the last major battles in the Filanoth Planes between Vylothir and Nagran. This conflict was the final major success and became known as The Battle of Kyranas Run. Much is written about the conflict but there is an intense focus on the power struggle between Massina Leivron and Kynan Domvir. It was however in this conflic when Tyranval earned his title of Dragonwalker, as his draconic nature was expelled into a large draconic spirit as well as a heightened power of his draconic magics. The scorching spirit raised high, it was like a burning flame crossing the sun. While it was unclear as to the nature of this creature it was clearly fighting alongside the rebellion. While soldiers clashed blades and shield, this spirit scorched through crowds of soldiers. However, nothing was a more glorious sight in this battle than the clash between Massina Leivron, Kynan Domvir and Tyranval Shademoss. The former triumvirate of power in the nation's political sphere clashing between melee blows and spells blasting at each other. Massina was as skilled with a blade as with her words, but there was supposedly a moment at which the Dark Emperor held a blade high over the failing body of the future queen, prepared to deliver the final blow. When a powerful shield of arcane energies protected her form. A blade of pure flame piercing in the back of the Dark Emperor and delivering a swift and final blow to the failed Imperial. At the end of this battle Tyranval was key in the negotiations for the surrender of the living descendants of House Domvir. Despite his personal feelings towards the family Tyranval was kind on those who remained for they were not to blame for the actions of their family. He advocated for their exile from the nation rather than their execution.
Later Life
Once the rebellion and negotiations of the new Myvora had concluded, Tyranval approached the latter half of his life. Despite holding the position of General Commandant, he spent most of his later life preventing further conflict, hoping to achieve a level of peace that the nation would need to recover. Tyranval also spent many years as the First Lord of Myvora, The Hand of The Sovereign and retained his title as the Seat of Arcane. In these positions he was considered a close advisor to Queen Massina and a core part of the Council of Myvora until his death. Upon his death there was a grand state funeral including a passing of the guard from Tyranval to his son. The common tradition of State Funerals within Myvora allows for the public to pay their respects to the coffin of the individual. In the case of Tyranval, he asked the tradition be forsaken, in return he asked that each member of the public take the day to spend with their loved ones and to celebrate the lives that they have. The current Monarch, Queen Kavnasa Leivron , named the day after him, a celebration of family and such love. While the day, the First of Shovenu, is dedicated by those who are holy to Marvina, the day is known among those in Nagran and Myvora on the whole as Tyran's Day.Lord Tyranval Shademoss |
