Rations of food are essential, having a food that can last the journey from coast to coast helps avoid uneccesary stops. Tuk-lulth Steak is one of the most flavorful options that can be used for this purpose, and in a worst case scenario it also makes good bait. — Heldran Ilthrak
Tuk-luth Steak is a meat dish created as a result of the herding of the Tuk-luth in the
Dolvalyn Sovereignty. It is a dried meat that is often consumed as a small part of meals or during adventures and travels.
Description
When butchered, Tuk-luth meat can often be extremely lean, resulting in a finer, but less flavorful taste. As a result, it is often cut extremely thin and coated with a layer of honey and often a unique spice blend created to the taste of the chef. After being coated and spiced, the meat is then covered with a dusting of Dembras Salt, which is known to protect the meat and ensure it dries out and locks in as much of the flavor as possible. The crystals are also known to divert additional heat from the meat allowing it to naturally dry and become more flavourful.
The meat is then left to dry hanging up until it starts to petrify, drying out and taking on a rich pink colour that give it the traditional flavors of sweet and meaty. The meat usually last for several days if not properly stored. However, often a bundle of Tuk'luth Steak is contained in a sealed jar filled with more Dembras Salt which allows for the dried meat to be stored for several years before it will expire. Many describe the texture of Tuk-luth Steak as chewy, while others describe it as tender, which seems to result from the preparation and how the Tuk-luth was fed during its lifetime.
I would try it for sure. I quite like jerky. I also love you've included some more complicated recipes you can use the tuk-luth steak in.
