Labrivas Dolvalyn

She rose with a powerful sword guiding those of us who believed we would not see the light again out from our bindings. Striking down scores of strange corrupted celestials to ensure that we could arrive safely. It was nothing if not inspiring, and in that moment she was a swirl of light striking down the darkness.
— A retelling of Lavrivas' escape

Labrivas Dolvalyn, also known as the Lightbringer, is the Queen of the Dolvalyn Sovereignty. She took up this position after the passing of her long lived mother less than a hundred years after the end of The Shatter.

Description

Appearance

Labrivas Dolvalyn is a Dark Elven woman with dark lavender skin, thick white hair that falls behind her like a train, and nearly pure white eyes. She is commonly seen wearing ceremonial armor over a dress that seems to shift and change color depending on her mood, often remaining a stable gray. She is adorned by a headpiece that is made to resemble The Mask of Infinite Dreams without masking the face of the queen.

Personality

Those who have met the Queen regard her as tempered and wise, either restrained from emotional outbursts, or unable to have emotions at all. There are accounts of her physical abilities as a powerful warrior in the wake of The Shatter where she helped to defend her people from the powerful forces of The Frozen Queen. She has been a fervent follower of Lord Shaper and the wider Dual Idols for several centuries.

Biography

During The Shatter

Born 87 years before the end of The Shatter, Labrivas Dolvalyn grew up watching the atrocities of the Faceless One and Frozen Queen. She was born in a prisoner camp as livestock for these deities to control and send to war. Her mother, Teyvenya, named her "She who brings light" in the hope that her child, a noble of the Dark Elf, would be the one to help guide their people forward.   From the age of 5, Labrivas was taught to fight and work hard. She was among the last generation of Dark Elven children trained by the dark generals of conquest and tyranny. Even from a child, her emotions were stilled and calmed to ensure that she could become a deadly fighter when needed. By the time she was 12, Labrivas was being sent out with many of the hunting parties and warriors to act as their primary combatant. Her body count was already in the hundreds by her 21st birthday. At the age of 32, she found an escape for a number of Dark Elf prisoners and took the opportunity killing several corrupted celestials. She claimed that the escape came to her in a dream, and at that time proclaimed that The Dream Shaper was core to the survival of their people. For the next 50 years, she worked to liberate people from the hold of the prison camps and started to gather together a rebellion against the deities that had held her people prisoner.

The Age of Restoration

After The Parting, Labrivas spent the first twenty years freeing as many people from the forces of the oppressive deities as possible, this included both her mother and father as well as hundreds of people from a variety of different ancestries that were subjugated by the deities and their forces. Thanks to Labrivas' efforts, the Den Dolvalyn was declared as the leading den of the newly formed Dolvalyn Sovereignty, with Teyvenya Dolvalyn taking control until Labrivas was considered an adult However, Labrivas decreed that Teyvenya would remain as Queen until her passing, formalizing her rule as Queen.   Until her mother's passing in 105 AR, Labrivas spent much time learning of the geography and people of the various regions that made up Myhlaran. In doing so she spread the word of the Dual Idols giving those who were religious and indoctrinated by the forces of The Deceiver Gods the ability to worship something so drastically different. In these 80 years, Labrivas also found many mates and people that she wanted to den with, though while many of them seemed to work for a short time, there were no males which held her heart for longer than a few weeks. It wasn't until she returned to Tyvalin that she found her true mate, a female seer known as Avrahlos, who took the family name Dolvalyn when they were married in 103 AR.   For the first 40 years of her reign, Labrivas spent time securing the future of her den. She searched to find if there was a way that her and Avrahlos could produce children, to this day, it seems that she was unable to find a way to conceive a child. After taking time to grieve for both her mother and that she will be the last of her line, Labrivas looked to her people, realising that she had hundreds of thousands of children, those under her charge as Queen of the Sovereignty. From that day forth, she took an oath that she would serve the people until her final breath hoping that in doing so, she can ensure a positive future for those within the Sovereignty.

During The Reign of Bornate, Labrivas ensured that her people were safe by sending members of her personal guard down to the Moorbound Peaks, where they could set up an extreme defensive force should Malithan Bornate attack. Instead, he sent a missive informing the Queen that he would not strike against her as long as she remained in her "decrepit and horrid lands". While displeased with the missive, Labrivas removed her forces from the peaks, retaining enough to upkeep the forts along the border, should an attack commence. Many in the Dolvalyn Sovereignty were pleased with her handling of the situation, but Labrivas was unsure and displeased that it took all of this to protect her people.   In 712 AR, Labrivas and the other members of under her Den, took in a diplomatic mission from Prince Leiland Ossalimar. During the meals and discussions, they talked about ways to ease tensions between the Dolvalyn Sovereignty and Ossalimarian Empire that had began to grow since the coronation of King Leivan Ossalimar. Labrivas wrote that she was quite pleased by the young prince and found him charming. However, as the Crown Prince was travelling home, a contingent of Strife's Children attacked and killed the prince. Since that day, Labrivas has been preparing for war, weary of an attack from the Empire and preparing for a war. Labrivas has sent many spies to learn of what is occurring in the realm to get a better understanding of the king's mindset. The Shrouded War, is still occurring with silent and swift strikes on different sides of the conflict, helmed on one side by Labrivas Dolvalyn herself.

Relationships

Avrahlos Dolvalyn

For more than 650 years, Avrahlos and Labrivas have been married. When they first met, Avrahlos was a young seer who would act as an advisor to Labrivas about the possible futures and upcoming events, usually saving her from complex and intricate traps and attacks. The two have had a consistent relationship for many years, despite the fact that neither were able to bear a child. Avrahlos is a constant source of counsel and hope for Labrivas, especially in darker times. It is said that Avrahlos is the source of Labrivas' long life, though these claims haven't been confirmed.

Dream Shaper

Tral'Vokar first interacted with Labrivas in the last few decades of The Shatter. He has acted as a guide and religious patron to Labrivas. It is said that he granted her the ability to have visions in her dreams, including the one that allowed her and several prisoners to escape from the prison camp they were once trapped in. Tral'Vokar has often visited Labrivas in times of great need to grant her a mote of his divine potential. Labrivas once joked that the Dream Shaper was able to appear as any individual among her court and often spoke out to her benefit.
