Fangril
The scorching fury of a vengeful spirit is only the first thing people notice about the pain. It is when the cold finally turns into heat again that the appendage is to be removed.
Fangril, the Hideous Haunt is the draconic deity of ghosts, swamps, and shadows. They are one of the original created by several of The Heraldic Gods. Taking up charge under the banner of Exa, Fangril is often linked as her mount rather than being thought of as his own entity, however, in the years since The Shatter, his undead followers have started to appear from the shadows of night.
Appearance and Symbols
Many of the depictions of Fangril are directly linked with his connection to Exa, as a result many of his depictions show Fangril as an undead revenant looking dragon with parts of his flesh sloughing off his form. While he still retains much of his black coloration, often one side of his face is completely melted, exposing the draconic bone underneath the flesh.
In reality, that was a mortal form that Fangril has since shedded, allowing him to resemble any of his progeny in a more ethereal form. As a result, he often appears to his followers as a proud and full black dragon with piercing emerald eyes. His form stands around 100 feet long with a further 40 foot long tail. Fangril is often adorned with several elements of jewelry which acts as an exemplar of his nature, with each piece seemingly made of shadows.
Followers of Fangril often use the symbol of a three claws that are made of a dark material as the focus of their worship because it reminds them directly of their lord. When recognized by Fangril, these symbols can take on a more ethereal property, causing them to resemble the ghostly visage of Fangril and be seen as a sacred symbol. When this happens, the worshiper is considered to be in Fangril's favor and often find themselves at the center of his present focus.

History
Before The Parting
Created alongside the other Guardian Dragons, there are tales featuring Fangril that lace history with many of them warning of the dangers of the draconic figure. The most famous tale of Fangril discusses how he died to become the deity of ghosts, how he was brought low by an oracle who saw the corruption and darkness in his heart, but it kept him alive, creating this strange revenant of a dragon that was prepared to strike against all who faced him. Before his death, as with all Guardian Dragons, they became the singular progenitor for the first of their type of dragon. Fangril had 4 descendents, each of whom were able to produce their own offspring without the need for another partner. Forming the culture for other black dragons, Fangril abandoned his descendants immediately after their birth to let them fend for themselves, not even claiming them as children, a common feature of black dragons to the modern day.
The next major tale is the first to bring Exa and Fangril together, describing a battle between Exa and several of the Guardian Dragons, Dadrin, Grovan, and Shendral, who intervened when Exa tried to attack a population centre to raise them as an undead army. While being beset by powerful primal weapons from the three Guardian Dragons, the ghostly figure of Fangril placed itself between Exa and the dragons. A flurry filled fight ensued with the dragons facing one another and Exa providing major support with her divinely empowered arcane abilities.
During The Shatter, Fangril fought by Exa's side, sensing her immense power and control over the greater powers of undeath. Fangril saw this as a sign that he should work alongside her. However, his spirit was scattered by the might of Grovan and Krynovir who worked to divide the undying spirit of Fangril to ensure that he could not help support the death and destruction caused by Exa.
After The Parting
While the Guardian Dragons are not influenced in the same way by the Tynau, most of their physical forms were damaged during the divine war, leading to many of the Draconic Spirits roaming freely without a physical form. For many Guardian Dragons this was a new sensation, but for Fangril, this was his usual form. Eventually, each of the Guardian Dragons were sought out by the watchful eye of Shathol who formed the plane Dreklari for them, a place where the whole pantheon could reside, even in their hatred for each other.Fangril and the other Chromatic Guardian Dragons reside within their own unique layer of Dreklari, each possessing a version of their own lair that they can attend to and protect. When Black Dragons die, their spirit is added to the great collective of Black Dragons who worship under the hoard of Fangril, many of whom become shades and ghosts that follow under the banner of Fangril.
The most notable recent event of Fangril was the decimation of a group known as the Darrikull. They were worshippers of Fangril who had over the years found a Black Dragon believed to be directly related to Fangril's original descendants. They took the dead form of the dragon and tried to call forth the worship of Fangril to bring him into this avatar. While there seemed to be some success in this, Fangril seemed to struggle against something that was holding him back. The ritual ended in the death of the Darrikull, covered in the divine acid of Fangril. However, it seems that over time, the Darrikull have become undead ghasts, said to traverse the world seeking more worship of their lord.
