Njaalverse

Aeons before the current time, the elves rose up against their draconic overlords and constructed the dracorage mythal, a work of grand magic that destroyed the great Dragon Empire of Old within the span of only a ten-day. Driving most of the dragons to a fit of temporary insanity and recklessness, and in so doing dismantled the old structures of power and allowed the elves to put an end to their reign. Many of the Dragonlords stood against the elves and refused to back down, and they were either slain or banished to remote planes of existence. Valmyxia was the Green Dragonlord, and he was banished to the Shadowfell for millennia until at last, he managed to manipulate a group of adventurers into releasing both him and his mate Malphazan from their imprisonment.   Valmyxia took his revenge almost immediately after escaping his imprisonment, through the aid of a perfect spell he had constructed during the aeons of his imprisonment he caused the nigh-total extinction of all Moon, Sun and Wood elves. With only the interference of the High Magisters of Evermeet preventing his spell from eradicating elfhood and preserving the Wild Elves and the many offshoots in Faerun.
