A sickly child, Sana was never able to spend much time outside due to illness, but, inside the house, she was always finding ways to be active. In 1986, she was cleared by doctors of any illnesses, allowing her to live a normal life. Additionally, she was able to bring her spaziness outside with her, manifesting itself in an interest in sports. She played soccer and baseball in her youth, but it was Cricket that really caught her heart. She played on her secondary school's senior team for both soccer and cricket but, at university, she only played cricket. In 2002, Sana was chosen to represent her province, Punjab, in the upcoming ODI tournament, which Punjab won that year. In 2004, Punjab won again, and Kazmi was noted nationally for scoring a century and taking a 5-wicket haul in the same match twice. The following year, Kazmi made her debut in March for the national side in an ODI against Sri Lanka. In December, she would make her Test Debut, scoring a century in the process. From then on, Kazmi was an integral part of the middle-order Nishari Team, often sharing crucial partnerships with Nishi Kapoor and Samira Abbasi. In 2017, during her pregnancy of her third child, Sana announced her retirement from international cricket.
