Palak Kaur Bhalla was born on August 5th, 1987, to Simarjot and Kirat Bhalla in Sikhipur, Punjab. The 3rd of 4 siblings, as well as the only girl, the family lived in a medium-sized house in the suburbs of the city. From a young age, she showed interest in cricket, and enrolled in an academy in 1995, at age 8. She played fairly mediocrely until the age of 15, when a growth spurt allowed her potential to be realized. She continued to play all the way through college, making it up to the first squad (varsity) her junior and senior years. After graduating Secondary school, she moved to Lohnur to attend University, going to Lohnur University, a public school managed by the Punjab State Government. During her college days, she spent time as an independent model, doing several shows during her sophomore, junior, and senior years. After college, she joined the Punjab State Cricket Team, becoming a regular in the T20 and One Day teams. while also playing a couple of Club matches. In 2012, she made her international debut at 25, playing in an ODI against England. In late 2013, she made her Test Debut against New Zealand, taking 3 wickets while conceding 100 runs. Since her debuts, she has been an incredibly reliable cricketer, being the 4th highest wicket-taker for the country.
Palak majored in Environmental Sciences at University, and hopes that, after her retirement, she can go into a career with the environment, such as a surveying company.

To date, Palak has taken 21 5-wicket hauls, the 3rd highest in the country. Additionally, she is the 4th-highest wicket-taker for the Women's side but has ambitions to be the highest of all time.
Palak's highest score while batting was 50 (120), which she scored in a Test against New Zealand in 2017.

In 2014, Bhalla began a relationship with a Nishari Television Actor, named Parvizh Rishi, although they broke up in 2015. That same year, she began a relationship with a childhood friend named Kurush Sandhu. 2 years later, in late 2017, the two got married. They have yet to have kids, and Bhalla has said before that kids aren't in their future as of now.

Raised Sikh, Palak still remains heavily attached to her beliefs. While an active member of her local Gurudwara, she also finds time to travel to the Harimandir Sahib whenever she can, occasionally bringing other members of the team when in Sikhipur.
