In any ruin of the Prime Asmer one can find Asmerian Metal. It is one of the more rarer materials in any ruin but is worth quite a lot the right person, making the hazerdous expeditions worthwhile.

Ruins
Asmerian metal can only be found within Prime Asmer ruins and even there it can be quite hard to find. Despite their great knowledge and power it would seem that even the Asmer did not use the metal alloy as much as other metals.
To find Asmerian metal it is best to either look at any remaining Prime Asmer bodies, who are partially made of the metal. As many of the ruins don't just have Asmer bodies lying around a second option is to look inside power generation rooms. For unknown reasons these rooms were often filled with the metal.
Alloy
Many scientist have tried to get an understanding of the material. It does not seem to be any existing pure metal found on Niorath. As such it is assumed to be an alloy comparable to steel.

Reforging
Most of the Asmerian metal that is found is not directly in a usuable shape. Sometimes it was used in weapons which makes it usefull without much tempering.
For other cases some reforging is necessary. This is , however, easier said than done. The metal is extremely resistant to decay and heat making it impossible to work with in the same way as other metals.
The only way to repurpose the metal is by using very strong Dimension Magic. Why the metal is more susceptible to this remains a mystery and not everyone can work with it. Only very skilled casters are able to repurpose it at all.
When succesful the metal is reforged into armors and weapons of fantastic quality. But given both its rarirty and difficulty to work with it can soley be used by the very wealthy.
