Merdoc

Merdoc is of standard fitness for a dog. His body is partially covered in scars from his past, but these do not impede him in anyway. His prominent feature are his glowing golden eyes.

A slender snout accompanied by a rough black nose. His eyes are covered by a fluffy brow as they radiate gold.

Merdoc the powers of a psychic. He can use telepathy as well as telekinesis. He possesses above average intelligence on a human scale.

Merdoc does not frequently wear clothes but prefers fancy clothing such as cloaks and suits when he does.

Merdoc was born into a scientists shop. He was bred to be a part of the scientists experiments. The scientist worked to expand the natural or natural abilities of those who would let him, mostly animals. Merdoc was one such experiment and the conditions he lived in were far from humane. He had only one friend in this time. The scientist had an assistant named Corenth. Corenth worked for the scientists to make ends meet and it was obvious to Merdoc that the assistant objected to what was happening in the shop. To fight back in their own way, Corenth would feed the animals more and give them more water for this, they were Merdoc's friend. The experiments were generally unsuccessful, they only left burns, bruises, and frequently scars. Progressively, Merdoc's awareness increased and so did his perception of his surroundings. Not only was he aware of the cruelty of his surroundings but the magnitude and volume of cruelty to those around him. His rage grew stronger and so too did his mental abilities. The experimentation had succeeded finally. He felt his intellect grow to the point of the average human. Not only that but he also became aware of an acute ability to move objects mentally. He knew he had to hide this and progressively worked on his abilities as a now psychic dog. Eventually he told his friend of his discovery. Corenth, baffled of course, became overwhelmed with the grief that this dog was now able to vocalize its pain. In a panic, Corenth released Merdoc who them proceeded to release the others. The chaos drew the scientist into his lab. The scientist realized Corenth had released the animals and was enraged. He went to attack his assistant with a needle. Merdoc, a partially practiced psychic did all he could to restrain the scientist but not enough. After some resistance, the man plunged the needle into Corenth and Merdoc watched as his friend fell. Merdoc could not protect his friend from the cruelty of the scientist and fled with the other animals in shame. He felt weak and shameful. After about a week, Merdoc reached a village. Initially he was fearful as he had only known one human to be kind. He was fearful but exhaustion set in and he collapsed. When he awoke he was surrounded but not in a hostile manner. In fact he was surrounded by children. Children who had brought him water and food. He cherished these little humans and played with them frequently. The village progressively became aware that he was more than just a dog. Whether it be from the glowing eyes or from the mental communication they would occasionally receive. At the center of the town was an odd statue. This statue was made of metal but it seemed to have been damaged slightly. It was missing a head and had a small hole where the head would be. Merdoc became interested in this statue and sought answers to its past. Eventually, Merdoc climbed inside the small hole in the head slot to see if there was anything inside. To his surprise there wasn't much, but when he shifted to leave, the statue woke up. There was a voice in his head that introduced itself as Aegis. It was a construct that's function was to protect smaller and weaker beings. Merdoc found that when he tried to walk out he was instead moving the robot's limbs. Merdoc prodded for the robots abilities and history but the robot knew none of this, only that he was meant to protect. The villagers were in shock. Their friendly dog had just awoken their statue and was walking around in it. Merdoc asked the chief if he knew anything about something like this but they did not know. The chief then tasked Merdoc to find out what he could about the robot. It was at this moment that Aegis and Merdoc began their Symbiotic life together. To seek knowledge and protect those they can.
