Personal history
Wade Bleecker was once a high-ranking and well-regarded corporate executive at Petrochem, one of the most powerful megacorporations in the world. His career was on a steady climb until a sudden and ruthless restructuring within upper management made him a target. Chosen as a scapegoat in a brutal internal power move, Wade narrowly survived an assassination attempt meant to silence him. However, with a corporate bounty now on his head, he was forced to abandon his identity and disappear from the corporate world.
In the aftermath, Wade changed everything—his face, name, and past—emerging under a new alias: Mr. Hands. Reinvented and anonymous, he established himself in Pacifica as its only prominent fixer, a behind-the-scenes player with a reputation built on discretion and results. What set Mr. Hands apart was his complete lack of physical presence. No one knew where he operated from or what he looked like; all communications came through holocalls showing only his hands. He preferred it that way—business without attachments, relationships, or physical vulnerability.
By 2077, Mr. Hands had become Night City's most secretive fixer, controlling work in Pacifica and influencing key events from the shadows. During that year, he temporarily relocated to the Heavy Hearts club in Dogtown, using it as a base while opportunities unfolded in the region.
Around this time, a nameless mercenary reached out to Mr. Hands, looking to connect with the Voodoo Boys. Hands explained that contact with the group was nearly impossible without the blessing of Maman Brigitte, but agreed to reach out to his own sources. A few days later, he successfully made headway, securing a possible job opportunity that would grant the merc access to the Voodoo Boys via an infiltration mission at the Grand Imperial Mall. Ever the facilitator, Mr. Hands arranged the connection without direct involvement.
In the events of Phantom Liberty, Mr. Hands quickly became aware of the mercenary’s unauthorized infiltration into Dogtown, a heavily militarized district under Kurt Hansen's control. Impressed by the boldness, he contacted the merc directly, offering both congratulations and support. As a gesture of goodwill—and investment—he registered the merc for authorized access in and out of Dogtown, provided a Makigai Tanishi T400, and opened access to a new roster of gigs within the district.
Unusually, this mercenary eventually met Mr. Hands in person, a rare occurrence few could claim. During this rare face-to-face, Mr. Hands shared insight into his deeper ambitions—particularly his interest in reshaping Dogtown and Pacifica through covert influence, alliances, and manipulation rather than open conflict.
Later that year, Mr. Hands was seen attending Kurt Hansen's party at the Black Sapphire, a notable move that highlighted his growing presence within Dogtown’s internal political landscape and his intent to secure power among its rising factions.
