What Went Down

Cipher asked The Last Drop bartender if he had seen Brandon Lewis. Though he wanted to be helpful, he couldn't provide any leads. The Last Drop is too blue-collar for a corporate customer. Sébastien's smartphone completes its library search with a couple of dozen low-confidence results and one medium-low confidence result. The included image shows a man younger than the photo the client provided. The name matches, but his hair is darker and more professionally maintained. His cheekbones are less pronounced. A performance review from Rocklin Augmentics in Los Angeles reveals that this man is a capable Logistics Coordinator who was transferred to Kendachi Arms under an inter-corporate exchange program.

Io asked one of the waitresses, Zoe, has seen Brandon but he isn't a regular. She told a tale about some drunken Tyger Claws who revealed too much. She suggested checking out the pachinko parlour on Amelia Street.

Amelia Street is crawling with Claws. The pachinko parlour is a medium-sized, one-floor building. Four Claws gangers stand outside the front door, checking the patrons. Four more are inside the parlour watching the gamblers blow their money. Io questions one of the Tyger Claws about Brandon's whereabouts, using the story that he is the father of her unborn baby. The ganger insists he doesn't know the man but is taken aback by the tale; he briefly leaves the main room via a back door. Upon returning, he maintains his story, but Io senses he is afraid to say anything else.

There is a three-floor building of residential apartments next door. Cipher suggests getting on the roof to recon from above. The pachinko parlour does have a rooftop door for maintenance staff. Cipher leaps from the second-floor fire escape to the pachinko parlour roof. Io tries to get the door off its hinges by removing the pins, but Sébastien grabs her multi-tool and easily accomplishes the task (Sacré bleu!).

The backroom has a computer terminal, but none of you has the Interface skill to use it. Cipher pulls a fire alarm to clear the parlour, and the team walks out the front door in the mayhem.

With all apparent leads exhausted, the team heads back to Harry's Yard. Passing by Quantum Echoes on the way home, there are new signs advertising that they now offer pachinko, 21 and hookah at the establishment. Io messages Dweasel, her uncle's contact, for help in locating a netrunner.

Notable Events

Cipher's amazing leap from at least 20 feet up and 12 feet across an alleyway (cue the Six Million Dollar Man sound)

Io's quick thinking and acting with the baby-mama story (where's Maury Pauvich when you need him?)

Sébastien's deft toolwork to remove the door (somebody will ask questions about that...)
