Solarin Orb

  As the hoard swarmed around him, the King grasped his scepter with both hands as the orb atop grew brighter and brighter, becoming nothing but a domed blinding light of radiance as he disappeared within. Once the light faded, nothing was left but his robes and the scepter.

Properties

The orb serves as a spellcasting focus which can empower the spells of the wielder, and in addition it grants spells of its own. It has been noted that upon approaching its wielder an immense heat can be felt emanating from the orb, should someone grasp it without permission of the owner their hands would suffer immense pain as they are seared by the heat.
A widely known spell harnessed through the orb would be that which was used by Helianthus Solarin, the spell seems to be a devastating surge of solar radiance. Although, in order for this particular spell to be cast it seems that the caster must sacrifice their life. Other spells bestowed by the orb are unknown, though it can be inferred that they are likely all based on magic harnessed from the Sun.

There have been rumours that speculate that the orb bears some sentience. Some have said that King Helianthus Solarin would sit alone in the throne room with only the orb in his company for extended periods of time.
