Evan Ender
CW: homophobia
Early Days
Evan Ender is an evolutionary biologist from Virarona who is best known for his work on Magical Mutations, especially that of the Melody Sea Star.
Early Days
Ender grew up on the northern coast of Virarona with his mother, who was unmarried. Though she tried to enroll him in the best schools, Ender rebelled, often skipping school to go swimming or ride horses with his friends. In his late teens, he developed an interest in the Melody Sea Star after a midnight visit to the beach with his boyfriend, who was interested in the musical rhythms they created.
It was a short lived relationship, but he's the one who first got me thinking that the world was so much bigger than I thought.
Research
Pitch Sea Star by ArtbreederEnder specializes the study of magical mutations. Most famously, he studied the Melody Sea Star, which gets its name from clicking together oyster shells, using a Sight-Scope to determine that it had evolved from the Pitch Sea Star, also located off of Virarona's northern coast. This magical mutation was likely caused during the The Rift of 1920.
In 1958, Ender was interviewed for an episode of Jack's World titled "The Origin of the Species." During the interview, he related his research to the scientific theory that Sprites, Elves, Dragons, and Mermish are the result of centuries-old magical manipulations in humans.
Involvement in Protests
Since his early 20s, Ender has been involved with protests to recognize same-sex romance and marriage in the Een temple. Though Ender was born and raised in the Een tradition, and his religious beliefs are important to him, he struggles with the temple's teachings on homosexuality. As a gay man, he hs fought for himself and others like him to have equal treatment within the temple. He has rallied enough people in this battle that some leaders have banned him from entering their temples.

That's what I love about Jack Pawly specifically having Ender on his show. It was a way to stick it to the jerks.
