Enemy Variants
Variants provide enemy Majors and Elites with extra unique abilities, effects or tactics. Each of the 40 variants adds its own unique complexity, surprise, and difficulty to encounters. Players must remain versatile and adaptable when fighting variant enemies as they can greatly change strategic choices.
Adamant
Has 50% reduced movement speed and 25% reduced attack speed, but 80% damage reduction. Attacks also cause Force damage.Aggressor
Charges headlong into battle with reckless abandon. Aggressors have 50% increased movement speed as well as 50% increased melee attack speed.Avenger
Surrounded by microdrones that return fire whenever the Avenger is attacked, up to once per second.Barbed
Covered in sharp, protruding spikes that inflict damage upon contact. Barbed enemies deal 25% of the damage taken if struck with a melee attack. They can also create destructible thorn barriers, hindering the movement and providing cover. These barriers can be destroyed with projectile damage as well as return damage to melee strikes.Berserker
Has dramatically increased size and health, and has high damage resistance against melee attacks. Can use a stomp attack to interrupt and deal Force damage to all enemies in a 20 meter radius.Caster
Imbues its attacks with Thermal, Ionic, or Entropic damage at random. These attacks apply heavy amounts of their corresponding statuses.Ceaseless
Passively replenishes health, making it difficult to defeat without a concentrated attack. Ceaseless enemy HP regenerates at 10% per second if they have not been struck in the past 5 seconds.Cursed
Possesses an otherworldly visage that causes mental damage. Deals 1% Interference damage every second within 5 meters, and can occasionally fire a channeled blast that deals 10% Interference damage on a successful hit.Desecrated
Corrupts the environment around them with an aura that deals a large amount of Toxic and Radioactive damage to its enemies every second within 10 meters.Divine
Able to create a 10 meter wide circle of restorative energy, healing itself and allies that are within range for 2% HP per second.Dread
Emits an aura of entropic energy. Dread enemies deal Entropic damage every second within 10 meters, and can occasionally fire a channeled blast that applies the Entropy status on a successful hit.Elysian
Can emit radiant shields that are invulnerable to all attacks for 10 seconds, providing complete protection to anything inside. This bubble can be cast every 30 seconds after the shield has dissipated.Enforcer
Has 25% increased attack speed. Additionally, attacks are imbued with Plasmic damage with increased status application.Explicator
Masters of strange universal forces, Explicators can conjure levitating orbs of Plasma that slowly seek out enemies. They move at 20% the speed of the Explicator towards the closest target. These orbs can be destroyed, as well as created every 15 seconds. The Plasma balls emit a 4 meter aura that deals a large amount of Plasmic damage with increased status application every half second.Exponent
Supports its allies with 40% increased movement speed. They can also erect destructible barricades every 10 seconds.Exterminator
Specialized in destroying defensive positions, Exterminators can deploy a swarm of powerful explosive drones that self-destruct when close to a target, dealing a large amount of Concussive and Thermal damage with increased status application.Gilded
Adorned in gold, Gilded enemies are only vulnerable to precision damage and Critical Strikes. Additionally, their melee attacks deal 50% increased damage.Graveborne
Upon death, Graveborne enemies will create an ethereal glowing orb where they were defeated. This creation does not attack, but it does have 10% of the original Graveborne’s HP. If the orb isn’t defeated within 15 seconds, the Graveborne is brought back to life with 25% of its original health.Harbinger
Channels dark energy to summon random Echoes (excluding Lightkeeprs). Harbingers can conjure an Echo once every 60 seconds and can have two active on the battlefield. When the Harbinger is defeated, so are all of their Echoes.Havoc
Utilizes volatile explosives and area-denial tactics. They sporadically throw Thermal grenades that ignite areas of the battlefield. They also can deploy concussive traps that momentarily disorients players making them vulnerable to attack.Illusionist
Uses holographic technology to create multiple decoys and illusions. These illusions deal 5% damage to the Illusionist and have 10% of the health. They can create an additional illusion every 15 seconds. They appear slightly translucent.Inquisitor
Specializes in immobilization, Inquisitor attacks disable jumping or any airborne movement on a successful hit for 8 seconds.Molten
Has 25% increased attack speed. Additionally, attacks are imbued with Thermal damage with increased status application.Moonlit
After being attacked, Moonlit enemies deploy a destructible obelisk that provides 50% damage reduction to all enemies within 15 meters. They can generate an obelisk once every 60 seconds but may only have two active at one time.Overlord
Commands a group of minions, buffing all allies within 20 meters with a 25% damage reduction.Plagued
Emits an aura that deals a Toxic damage to its enemies every second within 15 meters. Attacks are imbued with Toxic damage with increased status application.Ravenous
Possesses an insatiable hunger, allowing them to drain their enemies’ life force to replenish their own health. They tend to rush and attack at close range. Damage from Ravenous enemies replenishes its own health by 10% of all damage it deals.Ruffian
Occasionally throws proximity mines that only detonate if approached within 3 meters. These mines deal a large blast of Concussive damage with increased status application.Soulbound
Is surrounded by a spectral aura. Damage inflicted to Soulbound enemies within 20 meters inflict 5% of the same damage back.Stygian
Has 20% increased movement speed and attacks are imbued with Ionic damage with increased status application.Suppressor
Emits a 20 meter energy field to suppress player abilities. Any action aside from walking, running, or attacking is disabled within this field.Twilight
Able to manipulate the boundaries of light and shadow, becoming temporarily invisible for up to 10 seconds or until striking or attacked. Twilight enemies can cloak every 10 seconds.Umbral
Has intrinsic resistance to all elements except Ballistic. Additionally, attacks are imbued with Radioactive damage with increased status application.Unstoppable
Highly resilient and relentless in combat, they are immune to crowd control. Additionally, Unstoppable enemies gain 20% increased speed and increased damage output as its health decreases; 10% damage until 50% health or above, then 20% extra damage.Vindicator
Has 25% increased attack speed. Vindicator’s attacks apply large amounts of Ballistic Erosion.Vizier
Emits a 20 meter aura that protects its allies, disallowing any Critical damage and increasing damage reduction by 10%.Voidfire
Attacks from Voidfire enemies are imbued with Radioactive damage with increased status application. They can also channel a dark tendril that fires out from them, dealing a large amount of Interference damage.Warden
Equipped with a shield that projects a rotating barrier that circles the Warden. The shield covers 50% of their body and rotates completely every 10 seconds.Warbringer
Emits a 20 meter aura that inspires its allies, increasing damage by 30%.Warlord
