Just like how humans have different skin colours, elves do as well. Elves take on their surroundings hue. Coastal elves have a blue hue to their skin. Snow elves have unnaturally pale skin. Forest elves (the most common type) have greenish skin. The rarest type of elves are dark skinned. They are seen as the prettiest type, and are the ones who can blend with humans. These elves are referred to as demonelves.   Forest elves Forest elves are the elves that dwell in large reserves of greenery. They take on a greenish hue due to a special melatonin in their skin, which absorbs colour from around. Forest elves are the most common elves. They have a strong connection with other nature connected beings. They are, for most of the time, peaceful. There is some hostility with demoneleves, but that is it. Forest elves live in one society, and not in tribes. There is one society, and different ‘clans’ or ‘families’.   Sea elves Sea elves dwell near the coast. They have unique webbed feet, and they have developed a second eyelid to stay underwater easier. They do not have gills, but are unusually strong in the water. There are three types of sea elven tribes that have been in a three way war for years.   Snow elves Snow elves are extremely abnormal, and very very rare. The harsh climate of the kingdom, and the brutal war with humans has led to a rapid decline in population. Snow elves live in society, and are known as divine spirits because of their unusual colour.   Demon elves (is this racist? I'm not trying to be?) Demon elves developed their unusual skin colour and traits due to generations and generations of elves messing with potion. Demon elves are some of the best brewers in the Arcane world.
