The Cantran Labyrinths

Where us folks built our storerooms and dug our wells more often than not punctured a stretch of that great maze. Wasn't much to do but shrug one's shoulders and caulk up the gap.
-- Breck Todd, Cantran inkeep
In the Anterior Ages, the Drin Honne flourished as a species. Requiring a precise amount of sunlight to maintain their gelatinous bodies, they built their homes and great laboratories underground, emerging when necessary which was sometimes for only minutes out of the day, for so much hotter and brighter was the earthen sun then that of their homeworld of Odifar.   These underground structures were massive, plunging many levels beneath the earth and stretching from the borders of the great pineywood to the northern tip of the Canterlund Mountains. Though the Drinn Honne struggled to construct large scale buildings, their technology was well-suited to tunneling. The acids they devised are unparalleled and were used to carve out perfectly square tunnels through the toughest of rock.
